Why Riverdale Sitter Network?
At Riverdale Sitter Network, we take a thoughtful approach to every caregiver we introduce. Our screening process considers experience, references, background, qualifications, personality, and approach to childcare. So families aren't simply presented with available candidates, but with caregivers who have been carefully considered for their needs.
We take the time to understand your family's routines, values, care preferences, and lifestyle before making a match. Our goal is to create a connection that feels natural, dependable, and built to last.
Our caregivers understand the responsibility and trust that comes with caring for someone else's children. They bring professionalism, warmth, and genuine dedication to every family they serve.

Our Caregiver Screening Process
Quality begins before the introduction.
Application & Experience Review
Every prospective caregiver begins with an application outlining their childcare experience, availability, skills, certifications, and the ages they've cared for. We review each application to determine whether the candidate meets our network standards.
Background Screening
Caregivers undergo a background screening as part of our approval process. This is an important step in helping families feel confident about the caregivers we introduce.
Personal Interview
Qualified applicants meet with RSN for a one-on-one interview. We learn more about their experience, childcare philosophy, personality, communication style, and the type of families and positions they're best suited for.
Qualifications & Training
We review relevant certifications and qualifications, including CPR/First Aid and other childcare training where applicable. RSN also provides educational resources and professional development opportunities to help caregivers continue building their skills.
Reference Verification
We verify professional childcare references to gain a better understanding of the caregiver's reliability, professionalism, responsibilities, and experience working with children.
Personality & Family Fit
Experience is only part of a great match. We consider a caregiver's personality, communication style, strengths, preferences, and approach to childcare alongside each family's needs, values, routines, and expectations.
More Than a Background Check
A background check can tell you about someone's history. It can't tell you whether they're the right person for your family. That's why our process looks at the whole candidate, their experience, references, qualifications, personality, and approach to care. Only caregivers who successfully complete our screening and approval process are presented as RSN candidates. Once approved, their information can be considered for opportunities that align with their experience and availability.
Our standards are intentional.
We don't believe families should have to sort through dozens of unvetted applicants to find one great caregiver. RSN does the initial screening and takes the time to understand both sides of the match before making an introduction.
